Berkeley Innovation X to Collaborate with Lam Research on Precision Manufacturing
The University of California, Berkeley Innovation X-Labs at the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology are excited to announce a new collaboration with Lam Research in the area of Precision Manufacturing.
Lam Research Corporation engages in the design, manufacture, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment used in the fabrication of integrated circuits. Its products are used primarily in front-end wafer processing, which enables the creation of the active components of semiconductor devices and their wiring.
“The objective of the collaboration is to understand how to best combine machine learning-ML based predictions of manufacturing controls with human judgment bases predictions. This is an opportunity for postdoc and Ph.D. students and undergraduates to work with Lam Research to apply machine learning, reinforcement learning, and other methods to advance the state of precision manufacturing,” says Ikhlaq Sidhu, Faculty Director and Chief Scientist at the University of California, Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology.
