How can we become digitally secure?

We have witnessed a large increase in ransomware attacks, identity theft, and even state sponsored cyber attacks. Failure modes include people’s mistakes, governance, and technology gaps. This trend will only continue until the point that privacy has no meaning and trusted parties such as banks and governments are no longer able to guarantee safety to their stakeholders. Is there a more effective and potentially multi-disciplinary approach to cyber security that has not yet been formulated?
