Innovation X Roundtable – Algorithms and AI for Media in the 21st Century
November 4, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

How can technology innovations curb disinformation in the media and help the Internet be a reliable source of information for all?
In the age of the Internet, truth has become democratized, and everyone can be an original source of information, easily contributing photos, commentary, and stories online that can reach thousands of people in a matter of minutes. While this has provided a voice to many more people, professionals such as journalists, historians, academics and others that use a systemic approach to delivering information are no longer gatekeepers of communication, and users have an increasingly difficult time identifying trustworthy sources and knowing when information is reliable and accurate.
In this Innovation X Roundtable moderated by investor and Berkeley faculty member Shuo Chen, a panel of industry and academic experts will discuss the tools, algorithms, and artificial intelligence approaches that have the potential to curb disinformation on the Internet, help users identify truthful information and help the Internet live up to its promise of democratizing information for all.
